Rive is a tool that gives animators a fresh new way to bring interactive animation to the web and mobile apps. What do I mean by “interactive animation?” Take a peek at some of the recent test animations I’ve made in Rive!
The Rider
The Rider, ushering in the new way to animate for real-time interaction at runtime. Made entirely in Rive. File size: 245kb.
Key Features:
Dragon’s eyes follow the pointer
Layered animations loop at different intervals, allowing for a more robust and random-feeling animation
Clicking on different parts of the screen triggers the dragon to move. I wanted to play with a staggered timing on the movement so it didn’t just all move at once, so I used animated constraints staggered on a timeline.
INteractive avatar
A fun rigged character that responds to your clicks and a head turn input. File size: 115kb.
Key Features:
Multiple layered animations with state machine interactions
Bone-rigged shapes that turn in 2.5D space
STart button
This is how buttons should feel when you press them. File size: 31kb.
